Observer Corp exists because a great deal of what is recorded is never looked at again, and a great deal of what is looked at was never recorded properly in the first place.

We make objects for the interval between those two failures. Some of them are useful. Some of them are equipment for a job that does not exist. We manufacture both to the same standard, because we have never been able to tell reliably which is which.

Systems withdrawn from sale remain in the archive. We do not pretend they were never issued.
